Boxed name design: letter tiles or outer brackets

A boxed name design can put each letter in its own box, or put one frame around the whole name. Boxed Letters gives you a row of outlined letter tiles. Filled Boxed Letters uses solid dark boxes. Circled Letters gives you round shapes instead. Outer brackets work in a different way. They keep your letters together and add marks at the start and end of the name. Try both kinds with one short nickname. Four separate boxes look very different from four bold letters inside one pair of corners. Choose the type first. Then decide if you need stars, crowns or anything else at all.

How to make a boxed name to copy

Type a name in the box above and look at the boxed and bracket results. Tap More designs to see extra frames, like monospace corners, double-struck brackets and decorated tiles. Copy the one that fits where you will use it, then paste it into a draft. Each boxed letter is one single character. It is not a normal letter with a box drawn around it, so you can't delete just the box and keep the letter. To change it, go back to the box above and pick a different result. The bracket designs are easier to change later. Just delete the marks at each end of your name.

Boxed nickname ideas for short names

Short names look best in boxed letters, because the row stays neat. Try initials, a nickname or a short team name instead of a long sentence. If your name has two words, try it with the space and as one word, then choose. A bracket design can make a two-word name easier to read, because the whole name sits inside one frame. Stars around boxed letters stand out more, but they also make the name wider. Put that version next to the plain boxes. See which part really makes the nickname better, and which part just makes it busier.

Check capitals, circles, and digits

The two square box styles here always use capital letters. It doesn't matter if you type capitals or lowercase. Circled Letters keeps capitals and lowercase different, so try it if that matters to you. Numbers stay normal in the square styles, but Circled Letters has circled numbers. If your nickname has a year in it, one outer frame around matching letters can look more even than square letters next to plain numbers. An empty box in another app is not the same as a boxed letter. It means that app can't show the character. If the tiles don't paste well, choose a simpler frame.

Box every letter, or frame the whole name?

Boxed Letters puts a box around every letter. Bold with Corner Brackets puts brackets around the whole name. The first looks busier, and the second looks calmer. One outer frame is often a better choice for a long name with two or more words.

What happens to numbers in a boxed name?

The square box styles leave numbers normal, so a name with a year will mix boxed letters and plain numbers. Try Circled Letters if you want circled numbers. Or put the whole name in one outer frame so everything looks even.
